Shared electric scooters are now operational in Belo Horizonte starting this Wednesday, June 18. The service is initially available in the central area and neighborhoods in the western region, with users able to access them through the JET app available on iOS and Android platforms. To use the service, individuals must be 18 years or older, register on the app, and make payments via credit card or Pix, with all regulations detailed in the app. The application also provides information on authorized areas for riding, pricing, and parking locations.

The scooter pricing model is dynamic, with costs varying depending on the time of day and day of the week. Unlocking the scooters costs between R$ 2 and R$ 3, while the per-minute charge ranges from R$ 0.49 to R$ 0.99. Moreover, rides can only be concluded at designated locations specified by the app to prevent obstruction of sidewalks. To educate users on the correct usage of the scooters, monitors will be present at Rua Goiás in the center during the launch day to offer guidance and support for new users.

This initiative marks an important step towards enhancing urban mobility in Belo Horizonte, providing residents with an alternative transportation option that could help reduce traffic congestion and promote a greener environment.
