The teaching community experiences a painful loss: a long-time lecturer has died

The Lithuanian teaching community mourns the loss of longtime educator J. Vaičionienė, who dedicated over four decades to teaching German in various educational institutions.

J. Vaičionienė, an esteemed educator who graduated from Vilnius Pedagogical University in 1967, has passed away, leaving a profound impact on the teaching community in Rokiškis. She spent more than forty years imparting knowledge at several institutions, including Rokiškio Cultural School, Rokiškio College, and Panevėžys College's Rokiškis branch. Throughout her career, she held significant administrative roles, such as vice-director for educational matters, while specializing in German language grammar and developing study programs and teaching aids for her students.

Her contributions to the academic sphere extended beyond the classroom, as she actively participated in professional seminars and conferences, demonstrating her commitment to continuous improvement in education. J. Vaičionienė maintained strong ties with the German embassy, facilitating cultural exchanges and acting as an interpreter during important discussions. Her involvement in the college’s council and as a curator for student groups showcased her dedication to fostering an enriching environment for both students and staff.

Her passing marks a significant loss not only for her colleagues and students but for the broader teaching community in Lithuania, where she dedicated her life to education and the development of future generations. A memorial service will be held in March to honor her longstanding contributions and dedication to her profession.
