Ukraine announces effective creation of defence alliance with the UK

Ukraine and the UK have officially established a defence alliance following the signing of a new collaboration document.

Ukraine has recently announced the creation of a defence alliance with the United Kingdom, formalized through the signing of an Enhanced Security and Defence Industrial Collaboration Declaration on March 17. This agreement was signed in London by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, marking a significant step in strengthening bilateral defence relations.

As part of the agreement, Ukraine is set to share its military combat experiences, technologies, and solutions. In return, the UK is expected to invest in Ukraine's defence capabilities, enhance production of military equipment, and improve its own long-range strike capabilities. This collaboration emphasizes the increasing military cooperation between the two nations amidst ongoing security challenges in the region.

Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Ihor Zhovkva, highlighted the importance of this initiative, explaining that the partnership would explore joint production opportunities for long-range strike systems. Both countries aim to scale up respective defence industries and ensure effective responses to emerging threats, thereby solidifying their strategic alliance in defence matters.
