Gas Agency Operating in a Cow Shed, Over 200 Cylinders Seized
An illegal gas agency operating in a cow shed in Rajasthan, India, was raided, leading to the seizure of over 200 LPG cylinders.
A shocking incident has come to light in Kotputli, Rajasthan, where an illegal gas agency was being operated inside a cow shed. The state's supply department conducted a raid and uncovered this illicit operation, seizing a significant number of LPG cylinders. The agency was located in the Shyam Nagar area of Kotputli-Bahrod, and instead of a legitimate storage facility, the cow shed was used as a storage site for the gas cylinders.
During the operation led by DSO Shashishekar Sharma, authorities confiscated 106 filled and 95 empty commercial gas cylinders, as well as a vehicle loaded with gas cylinders. Investigations revealed that these cylinders were being illegally refilled and sold on the black market, raising serious safety and legal concerns about the operations. This raid is part of a broader crackdown on illegal LPG distribution practices in the region.
The operator of the agency, Madaan Saini, was present during the raid and admitted that the agency lacked any valid licenses or authorized storage facilities, indicating that the operation was entirely unregulated and conducted from a residential space. The case highlights the ongoing issues of illegal gas operations in India, as well as the government's efforts to combat illicit practices in the LPG sector, which poses risks to both public safety and legitimate businesses.
