Terror of snatching monkeys in Vrindavan, these measures have been taken before the President's visit

Authorities in Vrindavan are implementing measures to combat the notorious monkeys known for snatching glasses, ahead of the President's upcoming visit.

In response to President Droupadi Murmu's planned visit to Vrindavan, the administration in Mathura has heightened security measures mostly focused on addressing the notorious issue of monkeys in the area. These monkeys have gained a reputation for snatching eyeglasses from unsuspecting visitors. The local government is concerned about the potential disturbances this could cause during high-profile visits, prompting them to devise a strategy to mitigate the risk.

As part of the security arrangements, the authorities plan to install cutouts and statues of langurs at various locations within Vrindavan. Since real langurs cannot be deployed due to wildlife regulations, these cutouts serve as a visual deterrent to the monkeys, who typically avoid encounters with langurs. This initiative underscores the government's creative approach to blend traditional security measures with innovative solutions to deal with local wildlife issues while ensuring the safety of high-profile visitors.

President Murmu is scheduled to visit the historical and sacred sites in Vrindavan from March 19, spending three days there, during which she will also inaugurate a new cancer block at the Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram Charitable Hospital. Her itinerary includes a pilgrimage around the Govardhan Hill on March 21, which is expected to attract significant public interest. The preparations being made reflect the local administration's proactive stance in managing the unique challenges posed by local wildlife during such important events.
