Price of flour and sugar has decreased, but franchise dining prices are soaring

Despite a decrease in the prices of key ingredients like flour and sugar, franchise food prices in South Korea continue to rise, affecting consumers' perception of meal costs.

The South Korean government has successfully driven down the prices of essential goods such as flour, sugar, instant noodles, edible oil, and snacks, but franchise dining costs are still on the rise. Major fast-food franchise companies, including KFC, Burger King, and McDonald's, have recently announced increases in their product prices, citing high exchange rates and rising raw material costs as the main reasons. For instance, KFC raised the price on 23 items by 100 to 300 won, and Burger King increased the prices of 49 menu items by 100 to 200 won, indicating a continuing trend of price hikes in the fast food sector.
