NIWRMC boss withdraws from Kaduna central senate race
Dr. Abdulmumini Zaria has withdrawn from the Kaduna Central senatorial race to focus on national service and support President Bola Tinubu's administration.
Dr. Abdulmumini Zaria, the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Inland Waterways Resources Management Company, has officially withdrawn his candidacy for the Kaduna Central senatorial race. His decision stems from a desire to prioritize his national responsibilities and support the leadership of President Bola Tinubu as well as Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani. Zaria emphasized the importance of full commitment to public service, particularly in the light of ongoing reforms under the current administration, which he believes requires dedicated officials.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Zaria indicated that while he had been preparing for this political pursuit for three years, he felt it was essential to step down in order to focus on delivering effective service in his current role. He articulated this choice as a sacrifice of personal political ambitions for the greater good of his country, underscoring his commitment to national duty over individual aspirations.
Zaria also praised Governor Uba Sani, reaffirming his loyalty and commitment to his leadership. This withdrawal not only reflects Zaria's prioritization of national service but may also be seen as a strategic move to align with the current administration, positioning himself as a key player in the ongoing governance reforms in Nigeria.
