Main Accused in BJP Leader Murder Case Arrested, Had Shot and Stabbed Afterward
Police in Gorakhpur arrested the main accused in the murder of BJP leader Rajkumar Chauhan, who was shot and then stabbed in a revenge killing linked to a family dispute.
In a swift response, police in Gorakhpur have apprehended the primary suspects in the murder of Rajkumar Chauhan, a prominent BJP leader and former councilor. The shocking incident took place early Tuesday morning when Chauhan was out for a morning walk. Reports indicated that he was first shot and then brutally attacked with knives, leading to widespread fear in the community. The motive behind the murder was revealed during police interrogations to be revenge stemming from a fight involving Chauhan's nephew.
The main accused, 18-year-old Raj Chauhan, allegedly conspired with his friend Vipin Yadav to execute this heinous act in retaliation for a family dispute. Autopsy results showed that Chauhan sustained 11 stab wounds, highlighting the brutality of the attack. Initially, the victim's family named eight individuals in relation to the crime; however, police investigations have established that only the two arrested suspects were directly involved in the murder, thus narrowing down the investigation to these key perpetrators.
In light of this tragedy, the local district administration has stepped in to address the community’s safety and support needs, especially concerning the educational arrangements for affected children.
