Civil Police investigates if acai glass was poisoned inside the victim's house in Ribeirão Preto; girlfriend is a suspect

The Civil Police of Ribeirão Preto is investigating a potential poisoning incident involving a young man after he consumed acai at home, with his girlfriend being a primary suspect.

The Civil Police of Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo, announced on Tuesday that they are investigating whether the acai drink consumed by 27-year-old Adenilson Ferreira Parente was poisoned with a toxic substance known as 'chumbinho' inside his home. Adenilson fell severely ill after drinking the acai and was hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), but he has since recovered. His girlfriend, Larissa de Souza, has been named as one of the main suspects in the case.

The incident occurred on February 5, when Larissa visited a shop on Avenida Barão do Bananal to pick up an order of two acai drinks. Later that evening, she returned with Adenilson to complain about the purchase. From the start of the investigation, authorities ruled out the possibility that the poisoning occurred at the store, concentrating their efforts on the events inside the couple's home.

As the investigation unfolds, the focus remains on establishing the timeline of events and determining the intentions behind Larissa's actions. This case raises questions surrounding personal relationships and the extreme measures individuals may resort to. The findings could have broader implications for the community and highlight potential issues of domestic safety and trust within relationships.
