Two women were arrested for drug trafficking during a police inspection in Presidente Venceslau, Brazil.
In a recent operation on the SP-270 highway, two women, aged 44 and 24, were apprehended by the Tactical Force of the Military Police for drug trafficking on Monday, the 16th. The police were conducting routine patrols when they stopped a bus traveling from Campo Grande to Rio de Janeiro and noticed suspicious behavior from two passengers.
Upon inspecting their baggage in the bus's lower compartment, officers found a significant quantity of drugs, including 17 packs of skunk, 10 packs of base cocaine, and 7 packs of cocaine. The women were questioned, and they confessed to owning the drugs, explaining that they had traveled from Ferraz de Vasconcelos to Campo Grande to pick up and transport the narcotics.
This incident highlights ongoing issues of drug trafficking in Brazil and the efforts by law enforcement to combat this illegal activity. The arrests not only remove a quantity of illegal substances from circulation but also demonstrate the police's proactive approach to monitoring transport routes known for drug smuggling, especially between major cities.
