Women attempt to smuggle drugs hidden in their bodies and are arrested in prisons in the interior of SP

Four women were caught attempting to smuggle drugs hidden in their bodies during searches at prisons in São Paulo, Brazil, and were detained last weekend.

Last weekend in São Paulo, Brazil, four women were apprehended while trying to smuggle drugs concealed within their bodies during routine visitor searches at local prisons. These incidents highlight ongoing struggles with drug smuggling in the correctional system, particularly as authorities step up security measures.

One notable case involved the wife of an inmate at the Ozias Lúcio dos Santos Penitentiary in Pacaembu, who was stopped by police after an imaging scan revealed suspicious activity in her pelvic area. Upon questioning, she voluntarily surrendered a package containing 62 grams of marijuana and was subsequently taken to a local police station.

Another incident occurred at the Pracinha Penitentiary, where a visitor was also detected with irregularities on a body scan. She admitted to carrying 69 grams of marijuana concealed inside her body and was arrested. These occurrences underline the persistent challenges correctional facilities face regarding contraband and ongoing efforts to prevent the influx of drugs into prisons.
