Crisis in the Middle East. MSiT announces vouchers and extensions of support from TFP

The Polish government has announced support measures and an analysis of the evacuation operation for citizens returning from the Middle East amid ongoing regional crises.

The President of the Insurance Guarantee Fund, Małgorzata Ślepowrońska, reported that applications for aid from the fund totaling approximately 23 million złoty have been submitted. This support is crucial as over 14,000 Polish citizens have returned to the country following evacuation efforts due to the crisis affecting the Middle East. These funds are expected to help those impacted by the rapidly escalating situation in the region.

At a recent meeting, Sport and Tourism Minister Jakub Rutnicki highlighted the success of the evacuation operation, with a total of 14,673 citizens repatriated through 82 flights between March 1 and 16, including more than 12,000 from the Middle East. Rutnicki emphasized the lessons learned from this unprecedented situation, expressing gratitude towards the tourism sector for their swift actions in ensuring the safe return of Polish tourists from hazardous areas.

In addition to discussing the successful evacuation, the government plans to extend support measures such as vouchers for affected citizens as part of its comprehensive response. The collaboration between various governmental bodies and the contribution of Air Force planes for special flights were noted as key factors in the effective execution of the evacuation operation, ensuring the safety of Polish nationals during a time of crisis.
