Driver disobeys stop order and tries to run over police officer in Barra do Piraí

On Tuesday, November 17, a man disobeyed a police order to stop during an approach in Barra do Piraí, Rio de Janeiro, and attempted to flee by driving at a police officer. According to the Military Police, in response to the imminent danger posed, officers shot at the rear tire of the vehicle to prevent the suspect's escape. This action was taken to protect not only the police personnel involved but also civilians nearby.
The chase came to an end when the suspect lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a sidewalk in front of a market. Upon apprehension, police discovered a package of marijuana hidden in the car's engine compartment. The suspect along with the seized marijuana was then taken to the Barra do Piraí police station, where the incident was officially registered.
