A 43-year-old man was arrested in the Vila Nova neighborhood of Barra Mansa, Rio de Janeiro, on charges of sexually abusing his two daughters, aged four and eight at the time of the offenses. The arrest took place on a Tuesday, following the execution of an outstanding arrest warrant that had been issued by the court. The investigation by the Civil Police revealed the extent of the abuse against the children, which prompted serious legal action against the suspect.

The man had previously been issued a legal summons but had continued to remain free until his recent arrest. With the preliminary investigation revealing substantial evidence against him, a definitive conviction was reached on the 13th of October. Following the verdict, he was immediately taken to the Barra Mansa police station and will be held in custody until his transfer to prison.
