Search operations continued on Tuesday with a coordinated effort that included divers from both NΓ΅mme and Pirita rescue services, who scoured the underwater area. There were also bomb disposal experts on standby with an underwater robot. The first missing man was discovered about five meters below the ice at approximately 3:05 PM, followed shortly by the second at 3:24 PM. The deceased were identified as two men aged 64 and 52, highlighting a tragic end to a recreational outing that turned fatal.

In light of these fatalities, the Estonian Rescue Board announced a ban on accessing ice-covered inland waters starting on March 17 due to safety concerns.
