Historical Encounters series pays tribute to Tom Jobim at the São Paulo Hall

The 'Historical Encounters' series will honor Brazilian composer Tom Jobim with a series of live concerts featuring various artists at the São Paulo Hall starting April 25.

The 'Historical Encounters' series, which showcases prominent names in Brazilian Music (MPB), will be held at the São Paulo Hall starting on April 25. The concerts feature the São Paulo Big Band, comprised of 20 musicians who will perform alongside various renowned artists every Saturday. Tickets for this series go on sale on Tuesday, with prices ranging from R$ 50 to R$ 380, and children under 10 accompanied by an adult can attend for free.

The inaugural performance will spotlight singers Flávio Venturini and Edson Cordeiro, with subsequent concerts pairing well-known artists including Céu with Assucena, Negra Li with Os Garotin, and more. The series will conclude with a tribute to the iconic Tom Jobim, led by Kell Smith and Daniel Jobim, ensuring that the legacy of the composer known for timeless classics like "The Girl from Ipanema" endures through live performance.

In addition to the live concerts, all seven events in the series will be broadcast live on the São Paulo Hall's YouTube channel, allowing a wider audience to appreciate the music and the homage paid to Tom Jobim.
