COP15: police and firefighters reinforce service in English and Spanish during the conference

During the COP15 conference in Campo Grande, police and firefighters will provide emergency services in English and Spanish to accommodate foreign participants.

The Military Police and the Military Fire Brigade in Campo Grande are enhancing their emergency response capabilities in preparation for the COP15, an international conference focused on the conservation of migratory species. Scheduled to take place from March 23 to 29, 2026, the conference will see a significant influx of foreign participants, prompting the need for bilingual emergency services to ensure safety and effective communication.

As part of the Integrated Security Plan by the State Secretariat of Justice and Public Safety (Sejusp-MS), 23 military personnel have received specialized training to operate within a tourism policing unit. This training includes skills for addressing visitor needs, conflict mediation, and adherence to security protocols typical for international events. Additionally, teams from the Civil Police will be stationed in both the Blue Zone, which is the official area of the conference, and a specialized police department to handle specific threats.

This initiative underscores the importance of providing comprehensive support to international visitors, reflecting Brazil's commitment to facilitating a secure and welcoming environment for all attendees at global gatherings. The bilingual response teams representing law enforcement will serve as a vital resource for ensuring public safety and efficiently managing any incidents that may arise during COP15, thereby enhancing participants' overall experience in the host city.
