Several state real estate properties in Jaungulbene will be under the control of the Ministry of Finance
Several state real estate properties in Jaungulbene are set to come under the control of the Ministry of Finance following the liquidation of the local vocational school.
The Latvian government has decided to transfer several state real estate properties in Jaungulbene to the Ministry of Finance as part of the wider real estate allocation process following the closure of the Jaungulbene vocational school. Originally, the 2015 decree planned to divide the school’s real estate between designated state holdings and local municipality ownership, with a small portion of approximately 0.2 hectares meant for the Gulbene municipal authority. However, the local government has since opted not to take over this land.
The Ministry of Education and Science, adhering to guidelines from the National Cultural Heritage Administration, has undertaken the property distribution. This has resulted in the establishment of a new distinct state real estate holding named 'Ķekari' in Jaungulbene. This entity comprises a land parcel of approximately 0.22 hectares that includes several buildings, some of which lack registered property rights, while two buildings are owned by a private individual. As the local Ministry does not possess full information regarding these structures, this raises potential questions regarding property rights and management in the area.
Overall, this decision reflects a strategic realignment of state property management in Jaungulbene, highlighting ongoing adjustments to public assets following significant local administrative changes, such as the closure of educational institutions. The implications of this property transfer may influence local governance and community planning in Jaungulbene, as new administrative dynamics emerge from the distribution of these assets.
