Cremilda Medina Award Accepts Applications for Journalism Graduation Works
The Cremilda Medina Award is open for entries from students and graduates for journalism graduation projects, aiming to recognize academic production in the field.
The Abej (Brazilian Association of Journalism Education) has launched the Cremilda Medina Award for Research and Training in Journalism, specifically targeting graduation thesis works (TCC). This initiative encourages student participation, as candidates can submit either as current students or recent graduates who defended their TCCs in 2025. The award seeks to highlight significant academic contributions in journalism and acknowledge outstanding research and projects undertaken during their undergraduate studies.
Entries will be evaluated in two categories: monography and product memorial, with no restrictions on the number of submissions from any given institution. Applicants must provide the final version of their work along with the defense meeting minutes during the submission process. The award ceremony is set to take place at the National Meeting of Journalism Education (ENEJor), which will be held from April 22 to April 24 at the University of BrasÃlia, further promoting engagement in the journalism educational community.
In honor of the esteemed journalist and researcher Cremilda Medina, who was a professor at the University of São Paulo, this award emphasizes the importance of academic pursuits in journalism. With the submission deadline approaching on April 6, students are encouraged to participate, strengthening their professional skillsets while being recognized for their academic achievements. The initiative not only acknowledges individual excellence but also aims to inspire a new generation of journalists in Brazil.
