The first robotic mechanics of the Lithuanian army trained in Germany
Lithuanian army personnel are now trained to repair and troubleshoot the tEODor EVO robotic system used for bomb disposal, enhancing operational capabilities.
The Lithuanian army has successfully completed a training program in Germany for the maintenance and repair of the tEODor EVO, a remote-controlled tracked robot used for reconnaissance and neutralization of dangerous objects. This advancement means that soldiers can now address malfunctions on-site during missions rather than relying on remote support from the manufacturer, Telerob.
The course involved hands-on training where instructors intentionally disabled the robots to enhance troubleshooting skills among the soldiers. Participants, such as Staff Sgt. Vytautas Leonavičius, found the challenges of interpreting diagrams and electrical schematics fascinating, as they practiced identifying and fixing faults within the robotic systems. This training not only bolstered the soldiers' mechanical expertise but also improved the efficiency of bomb disposal operations.
By acquiring these skills, the Lithuanian army can now deploy the tEODor EVO with greater operational independence, reducing response times in hazardous situations. The move reflects a broader initiative to enhance military capabilities through technology and training, aligning with NATO standards and improving overall safety for explosive ordnance disposal teams in the field.
