Speed cameras: here are where and when they will be operational on roads and highways

Speed cameras will be actively monitoring roads and highways in Lombardy this week to enforce speed limits.

Law enforcement in Lombardy is reinforcing speed limit enforcement by deploying both fixed and mobile speed cameras on roads and highways. The police have informed the public about specific areas and times for surveillance, particularly during the week of March 16 to March 22. This operation aims to reduce speed violations and accidents by ensuring that motorists are aware of their speeds and the consequences of exceeding them.

The fixed speed cameras will continue to monitor key roads, while mobile units will be strategically placed in high-risk areas known for traffic violations and accidents. The use of the Tutor system on highways will also assist in recording the average speed of vehicles, further enhancing traffic safety measures. Various models of speed measurement devices will be utilized including the autovelox 104/C, 105, 106, and telelaser systems to ensure comprehensive coverage across targeted areas.

This initiative not only emphasizes the importance of adhering to speed limits but also serves as a deterrent for reckless driving behavior. The police are highlighting that violations can lead to penalties such as point deductions from driving licenses or even license suspension, thereby promoting a safer driving environment in Lombardy's roadways.
