There is no shortage of fuel in India, sufficient reserves: BJP

A BJP spokesperson stated that India has sufficient fuel reserves, unlike the situation in 2012-13, ensuring stable fuel prices over recent years.

A spokesperson from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) addressed concerns over fuel shortages in India, asserting that the current situation is vastly improved from the past. Unlike 2012-2013 when fuel shortages led to closed petrol pumps, the spokesperson emphasized that India currently maintains strategic reserves of crude oil sufficient to meet domestic demands. This security in supply has helped prevent significant price hikes in petrol and diesel over the last four to five years.

Furthermore, the spokesperson highlighted that liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is readily available for domestic use, offering reassurance to households that their cooking and heating needs can be met without disruption. The availability of piped gas and compressed natural gas (CNG) is also confirmed to be fully secured, making the fuel situation in India stable and reliable.

This statement reflects the government’s efforts to ensure energy security and mitigate concerns among the public regarding fuel supply continuity. By emphasizing the adequacy of reserves and availability, the BJP aims to bolster consumer confidence and reassure the citizens in light of any global fuel market fluctuations.
