Hiroshi Ikushima to Return to Culture Broadcasting Radio in April After Self-imposed Suspension Since Last January
Free announcer Hiroshi Ikushima will make a return to Culture Broadcasting Radio in April after a self-imposed suspension from entertainment activities since January of last year due to compliance violations.
Hiroshi Ikushima, a free announcer who had suspended his entertainment activities indefinitely due to compliance violations, is set to return to Culture Broadcasting Radio. His new program, titled 'Hiroshi Ikushima's Sunday at 9 AM,' is scheduled to start on April 5, marking his first regular program at Culture Broadcasting. The show aims to offer insights for living a richer life in the era of 100-year longevity, focusing on the health of mind, body, and wallet.
Culture Broadcasting confirmed that discussions with Ikushima began around last summer and emphasized the importance of compliance, mentioning that Ikushima has completed harassment training, which their employees undergo. The president of Culture Broadcasting, Hiroyuki Tanaka, acknowledged that there may be differing opinions regarding Ikushima's return but stressed the need for meaningful dialogue through the broadcast as opposed to leaving the situation unexplained.
Ikushima had stepped down from his prior programs at TBS Radio after a serious compliance violation was cited, involving inappropriate behavior toward the production staff and improper communications online. He expressed regret over his previous lack of awareness concerning harassment issues at the time of his departure and has pledged to ensure a more respectful approach moving forward.
