Cresol develops project for agroecological food between Brazil and Uruguay

Cresol Agri-Agência has launched a collaborative project focused on enhancing agroecological food production between Brazil and Uruguay from 2022 to 2026.

Cresol Agri-Agência, part of the Cresol System for national and international cooperation, is implementing the Innova Ecovida Project between 2022 and 2026. This initiative aims to strengthen food production through agroecological methods and involves collaboration with farmers in both Brazil and Uruguay. Funded by the European Union, the project falls under the Farmers’ Organizations for Resilience and Inclusion (FO-RI) program coordinated by AgriCord, emphasizing sustainable agricultural practices and community involvement.

The Innova Ecovida Project is designed to promote resilient, inclusive, and sustainable agro-food systems, highlighting the central role of farmers' organizations in achieving these goals. Through its collaboration with the Comisión Nacional de Fomento Rural (CNFR) in Uruguay and the Rede Ecovida de Agroecologia in Brazil, the project aims to confront challenges posed by climate change and food insecurity. The initiative also seeks to educate and empower farmers by promoting agroecological practices that enhance biodiversity and environmental sustainability.

As the world grapples with increasing climate emergencies and food production challenges, projects like Innova Ecovida offer crucial models for cooperation and sustainable agriculture. By fostering partnerships across borders, this initiative can serve as a pivotal case study for improving food resilience while also contributing to the broader goal of sustainable development in the region. The success of this project could influence similar efforts globally, encouraging a shift towards more responsible food production methods.
