China's delegation emerged as the most successful team at the Milano Cortina Paralympic Games, clinching a remarkable total of 79 medals across various disciplines, out of which 44 were awarded, including 15 gold medals. This marks the second consecutive Winter Paralympics where China achieved such success, building on their previous impressive performance at the Games held in Beijing, where they secured 18 gold medals and a total of 61 medals overall.
Following China in the medal standings was the United States, which garnered 24 medals, including 13 golds, 5 silvers, and 6 bronzes. Russia, competing under its own flag, claimed the third position with a total of 12 medals. The host country, Italy, finished fourth with a medal tally of 16 (7 gold, 7 silver, and 2 bronze), while Austria and France rounded out the top six.
In total, 27 nations achieved medal podiums, which is a notable increase of eight compared to the previous Games in Beijing.
