"Greater warmth will leave": a well-known meteorologist warned what weather changes will bring

A Lithuanian meteorologist explains upcoming changes in the weather, including potential fog and slippery roads, as the country transitions into spring.

On the night of March 17, light precipitation, mainly rain, is expected in parts of western and southwestern Lithuania, with clearer conditions by daytime. Nighttime temperatures will hover around -2 to +2°C, while daytime highs will be 10-13°C, noticeably cooler in the west and northwest regions around 5-9°C. This indicates a shift in settings as the nation gears up for spring, but drivers and pedestrians should remain cautious in relation to sudden weather changes such as ice and fog.

On March 18, the forecast calls for no precipitation but persistent fog and icy conditions are anticipated, especially in coastal areas like the Curonian Spit, where fog may linger throughout the day. Wind speeds will be variable, between 2-6 m/s at night, increasing to 5-10 m/s during the day. The expected nighttime temperatures will range from -1 to -4°C and daytime highs between 9-13°C, reinforcing the need for caution due to the expected chill in western and northwestern districts.

Come March 19, the forecast remains dry with icy conditions expected at night; light rain is anticipated in the west and northwestern regions in the late afternoon. The wind will blow from the west at varying speeds. Night temperatures will remain chilly at -1 to -4°C, while during the day, temperatures will range between 10-12°C, being milder in western parts and especially along the coast. This overall forecast suggests that as warmer days approach, caution is still necessary for the potentially slippery roads and fog issues that accompany the seasonal change.
