BMW launched its cheapest SUV in Argentina with new engine options

BMW has introduced a new version of the X1 in Argentina, making it the most affordable SUV in its portfolio.

BMW has expanded its offerings in Argentina by adding a new version of its X1 SUV, which is now the most accessible model in its lineup. This new variant, named X1 sDrive20d Efficient, features a mild hybrid diesel engine that combines a traditional thermal engine with an electric motor. The engine setup includes a four-cylinder, two-liter engine producing 150 horsepower, enhanced by a 48V electric motor providing an additional 20 horsepower, resulting in a total of 163 horsepower. This setup is paired with a seven-speed Steptronic automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.

The new X1 boasts impressive performance metrics, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.5 seconds and achieving a top speed of 210 km/h. Its fuel efficiency is also noteworthy, with a combined consumption rating provided under the WLTP protocol, highlighting BMW's commitment to offering eco-friendly options within its SUV segment while maintaining competitive performance.
