Henrique Cardoso de Araújo, a 39-year-old driver, was arrested in the act after an incident where he collided with and dragged a motorcycle during a traffic altercation in Fortaleza, Ceará. Following his arrest, a custody hearing was held where his defense argued for the approval of his arrest and requested that he be allowed to respond to the charges in freedom while complying with certain precautionary measures. The request was supported by the Ceará Public Ministry (Ministério Público do Ceará, MPCE).
