Deadline to join the agreement for illegal INSS discounts ends this Friday (20)
The deadline for pensioners to join the agreement for the refund of illegal INSS discounts ends this Friday.
The deadline for pensioners and retirees to formally join an agreement for the refund of illegally deducted amounts from their pensions by the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) is set to expire this Friday, the 20th. According to data from the PrevidΓͺncia, approximately 760,000 individuals who have contested these deductions still need to finalize their application to receive the owed funds. Those eligible for the refund must return to the Meu INSS website or app, or visit a Correios agency, to complete the necessary steps for the reimbursement process.
These illegal deductions were made by union organizations and associative entities, which are currently under investigation and are facing legal action regarding these irregularities. The total number of beneficiaries entitled to the refund exceeds 5 million. Despite having their right to restitution recognized by the INSS, many individuals have not completed the required procedure, underscoring the ongoing challenge in ensuring that all affected persons successfully navigate the refund process.
The importance of this deadline cannot be overstated, as it represents a crucial opportunity for beneficiaries to reclaim funds that were wrongfully deducted from their pensions. The repercussions of these illegal deductions extend beyond the financial implications for retirees, highlighting systemic issues within organizations involved in managing pension funds and the need for proper oversight and reform to prevent such occurrences in the future.
