This is the undoubtedly best remote working day, according to Finns

A recent survey reveals that nearly half of Finns work remotely at least once a week, with Friday being the most preferred day for remote work.

Remote work has become an integral part of working life in Finland, as demonstrated by a survey conducted by the Confederation of Finnish Industries (EVA) in the autumn of 2025. The survey found that 44% of Finns work remotely at least once a week, indicating a significant shift in work habits. More than a quarter of respondents stated they can perform their jobs entirely or nearly entirely from home, showcasing the adaptability of the Finnish workforce to remote work arrangements. Additionally, around 60% of employed Finns engage in some form of remote work, reflecting broader acceptance of this trend nationwide.

When it comes to the preferred days for remote work, Fridays emerged as the clear favorite among survey participants. This preference for a Friday work-from-home arrangement suggests that many Finnish workers value the flexibility to complete their work tasks in a more relaxed environment as they transition into the weekend. Mondays followed as the second most favored day, while mid-week days such as Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday garnered significantly fewer votes, indicating a possible inclination towards starting their week in the office or the routine of an in-person work environment.

The survey was conducted using a sample size of 2,038 individuals, providing a representative insight into Finnish attitudes towards remote work. As this work model continues to evolve, understanding its implications on employee satisfaction and productivity will be crucial for both organizations and employees. The results suggest that while remote work is highly regarded, the preferred days may reflect not only personal productivity patterns but also the work-life balance aspirations of the Finnish people, indicating a continued trend in favor of flexible working hours.
