Town Hall Vaterstetten: Information Evening on the Citizen Solar Park Pliening
An information evening regarding the Citizen Solar Park in Pliening will take place on March 17, focusing on how local residents can purchase shares in the project.
The planned Citizen Solar Park in Pliening is set to allow local residents to buy shares starting in early February. An informative evening is scheduled for March 17 at the Vaterstetten Town Hall to explain the details of participation. The project is organized by the municipal company Eberwerk, which aims to establish a photovoltaic solar power facility in the region. Scheduled to cover about five hectares, the facility is expected to generate a maximum output of around six megawatts, enough to supply approximately 1,800 households with electricity annually, equivalent to a sixth of the town's overall energy needs.
Eberwerk plans to build the solar facility between Pliening and Landsham and presents an estimated energy yield of about 6,400 megawatt-hours. As part of the planning process, discussions are ongoing regarding the potential incorporation of a battery storage system, which could enhance the efficiency of energy usage. However, the company has emphasized its commitment to ecological considerations, particularly in ensuring that the construction respects nature and species conservation, indicating plans to include grazing sheep as a part of the project’s landscape management.
The upcoming information session aims to engage the local community by providing opportunities for participation in the solar park investment, emphasizing renewable energy benefits, and addressing any concerns about environmental impacts. With renewable energy's increasing importance, initiatives like the Citizen Solar Park represent a proactive community approach to energy independence and sustainability, potentially serving as a model for other municipalities interested in similar renewable projects.
