A tragic accident occurred in Ipojuca, located in the Greater Recife area of Brazil, where 39-year-old Arlan Monteiro da Silva, a nurse and rescuer for the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu), lost his life. Arlan was riding a specialized emergency motorcycle, known as a motolância, en route to an emergency incident in the popular coastal area of Porto de Galinhas when he collided with a post. The accident took place around 3:45 PM on Sunday, October 15, on the PE-09 highway, which is a crucial access route to the southern beaches and features a central median separating the cycle lane from traffic.
