Man shot dead after leaving a party and woman injured in Imperatriz, MA

Dorian de Souza was shot dead while leaving a party in Imperatriz, Maranhão, with a woman also injured in the incident.

In the early hours of Saturday, March 14, Dorian de Souza, a 35-year-old man, was fatally shot as he was leaving a gathering on Avenida Industrial in the Bom Sucesso neighborhood in Imperatriz, Maranhão. The shooting was carried out by two unidentified assailants, who fled the scene immediately after the incident. Additionally, a woman present during the shooting was also hit and was transported to the Regional Hospital of Imperatriz, although her condition remains unspecified.

The incident occurred around 2 AM when Dorian attempted to get on his motorcycle after the event. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead on-site. Local law enforcement has launched an investigation, with the police suggesting that the shooting may be related to Dorian's past criminal activities, particularly drug trafficking, as he reportedly had a history of involvement in drug-related offenses in the region.

Authorities are treating the case as a potential case of revenge or settling of scores, given Dorian's prior criminal record and the ongoing issues with drug trade in the area. As of now, the suspects have not been apprehended, highlighting a broader concern about violence permeating communities in Maranhão linked to organized crime and drug trafficking.
