Man arrested for assaulting woman in front of children in Rio Largo

In Rio Largo, Brazil, a man was arrested for suspected domestic violence after he was accused of hitting a woman in the presence of their children. The incident occurred when the woman was slow to open the door to their home, leading to an altercation where the man slapped her face, causing her to fall and sustain injuries to her knee.
Authorities received a tip-off concerning the incident, prompting a police response to the scene. Upon arriving, officers learned from the victim about the aggressive behavior of the suspect. Following their investigation, the police proceeded to apprehend the man at his residence, which was situated directly across the street from the victim's home.
The suspect was formally charged under Brazil's Maria da Penha Law, which aims to combat domestic violence against women. Following his arrest, he was taken to the Central de Flagrantes in Maceió, where he faced legal proceedings related to his alleged actions.
