Man arrested in the act for assaulting partner in front of children in Dourados
A 31-year-old man in Dourados, Brazil, was arrested for physically assaulting his partner in the presence of their children, including a baby.
In Dourados, Mato Grosso do Sul, a 31-year-old man was arrested in the act for allegedly assaulting his partner within their home while their children were present. The incident was reported by a witness who noted a pattern of constant aggression, highlighting the victim's fear of seeking police assistance. Despite the physical evidence of abuse, the victim reportedly denied that her injuries were caused by the assaults during the police investigation.
Upon arrival, police officers from the Delegacia de Atendimento à Mulher (Women’s Assistance Police Station) found the woman with various injuries. However, she is described as having initially minimized the circumstances surrounding them. In addition to the assault charges, authorities noted that the living conditions of the home were inadequate, with the children living in a dirty environment lacking basic care.
Following the findings, the local Child Protective Services (Conselho Tutelar) was contacted to ensure the safety of the children and intervene appropriately. The man was subsequently charged with domestic violence and endangerment of children, underscoring the broader issue of domestic abuse and the need for protective measures for vulnerable individuals in such situations.
