New Partnership: Erding and South Tyrol Come Together
The district of Erding in Germany aims to establish a partnership with the Salten-Schlern region in South Tyrol, Italy.
The district of Erding is pursuing a partnership with the Salten-Schlern region, which is a community of 13 municipalities located east of Bolzano. This move marks the second official partnership for Erding, following a previous agreement with Bastia on the island of Corsica. Initial contacts between the two regions have been ongoing since 2017, including mutual visits that have laid the groundwork for this new initiative.
Recently, the Salten-Schlern district council met and unanimously decided to seek a regional partnership with Erding, a decision that has been positively received at the Erding district office. Both sides have set plans for a meeting in early summer, indicating a commitment to formalize the partnership. The representatives involved are eager to sign the partnership certificate as soon as possible, further solidifying the relationship between the two regions.
This partnership is not only a step towards fostering cross-regional cooperation but also serves to strengthen cultural and economic ties between Germany and Italy. Such collaborations can enhance tourism, mutual support in regional development, and a shared cultural exchange, benefiting both communities involved.
