Čurilla and Ďurka will not go to custody / The Regional Court rejected the prosecutor's complaint, the police officers will be prosecuted at liberty
Two Slovak police officers, Ján Čurilla and Pavol Ďurka, will face prosecution without custody, following a ruling from the Bratislava Regional Court that rejected a prosecutor's request for detention.
The Bratislava Regional Court has ruled that police officers Ján Čurilla and Pavol Ďurka will not be placed in custody and will instead be prosecuted while free. This decision came after the court rejected a complaint made by prosecutor Michal Žeňuch from the Trnava Regional Prosecutor's Office, who had sought the detention of the two officers. The court's ruling was deemed valid and confirmed the previous decision of the Bratislava I District Court that had released the officers from custody on March 6. The District Court justified its decision by stating that the prosecutor had filed the request for custody with an inappropriate court and also questioned the validity of the charges against the officers and the reasons given for their detention.
