ZUS: As of March 12, letters sent via ePUAP will no longer be addressed

From March 12, 2026, correspondence sent through the ePUAP platform will no longer be acknowledged by the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) in Poland.

The Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) in Poland has announced a significant change in the way individuals can communicate with public institutions as of March 12, 2026. According to a recent statement, correspondence sent through the ePUAP platform, which had been accepted until March 11, will no longer be considered effectively delivered. This adjustment comes as a result of new regulations that went into effect on January 1, 2026, which stipulate that such correspondence lacks legal effects, particularly concerning legal deadlines.

ZUS emphasized that any applications or correspondence submitted via ePUAP after this date will not be processed, which represents a shift in the administrative practices of the institution. This move signifies a crucial transition in how individuals engage with public services, likely aimed at enhancing the reliability and accountability of governmental communications.

Instead of ePUAP, individuals will now be required to use e-Doręczenia, an electronic equivalent of traditional mail with acknowledgment of receipt, which has been in place since 2025. This change is intended to streamline communication, ensuring that correspondence reaches its destination and is officially recognized by ZUS, thus preventing potential legal issues arising from unacknowledged applications.
