I discovered what slows down aging – a true elixir of youth
Researchers have found that taking multivitamins daily for two years can slow down the aging process by about four months.
Researchers from Mass General Brigham, led by Howard Sesso, found that daily consumption of multivitamins over two years resulted in a significant slowing down of the aging process, equivalent to approximately four months. This study, published in 'Nature Medicine', has sparked considerable interest in finding ways not only to live longer but also to enhance the quality of life as one ages. Sesso emphasized that the findings provide accessible and safe means to promote healthier aging.
The study highlights a troubling trend in Lithuania, where more than half of the population is considered overweight, emphasizing the need to prioritize health over cost when it comes to nutrition. Many people do not consume enough micronutrients through their diets, particularly important vitamins and minerals like iodine, vitamin E, calcium, and iron. The research findings call for a reevaluation of dietary habits and the importance of supplement use in achieving adequate nutrient intake.
Multivitamins and multimineral (MVM) supplements are among the most popular dietary aids available, providing a convenient blend of essential nutrients that help meet daily nutritional requirements and reduce the risk of deficiencies. As public interest grows in healthier lifestyles and aging, these findings may encourage further research into dietary supplements and their role in promoting longevity and overall well-being.
