Commander Alexandre Frota has embarked on a solo world tour in a single-engine experimental aircraft, with the first stop scheduled in Teresina, Brazil.
Commander Alexandre Frota, also known as Alex Bacana, has commenced an ambitious journey around the world starting from Brazil. His solo expedition in a single-engine experimental aircraft is set to span approximately six months and cover around 74,000 kilometers across 45 countries and all five continents. The first leg of his journey will land at the Fly Village aeronautical condominium, located 27 kilometers from Teresina, Piauí, during the afternoon.
Frota's lifelong passion for aviation has culminated in this personal quest, as he aims to become the first Brazilian to complete a solo circumnavigation in a single-engine plane. He acquired his private pilot license for both airplanes and helicopters at the age of 44, and he has meticulously planned this adventure which began to take shape in 2022.
