Now! Antti Aalto scored an impressive Finnish jump at Holmenkollen

Finnish ski jumper Antti Aalto placed third at the Holmenkollen World Cup event, marking his first individual World Cup podium finish.

Antti Aalto made headlines by securing a third-place finish at the Holmenkollen World Cup ski jump competition, achieving a jump of 131 meters in the first round. Due to unstable wind conditions, the second round was cancelled, making the results of the first round definitive. This podium placement is especially significant as it marks Aalto's first career podium finish in an individual World Cup event, a notable achievement for Finnish ski jumping, with the last similar accomplishment occurring in 2014 by another Finnish male jumper.

In addition to Aalto's success, fellow Finnish jumper Niko Kytösaho also performed well, finishing fifth with a jump of 128 meters in the first round. The competition was closely contested with Japanese jumper Tomofumi Naito taking the victory by a mere 1.1 points over Aalto, while Slovenia's Anze Lanisek secured the second place. This event illustrates the growing strength of Finnish ski jumpers on the international stage and highlights their potential to return to top rankings.

Both Aalto and Kytösaho showed great form throughout the weekend, as Kytösaho claimed the sixth position and Aalto the eighth place in the men's competition on Saturday. Their consecutive top ten finishes in three straight competitions signal a positive trend for Finnish ski jumping, indicating that they are becoming serious contenders in upcoming world class events.
