Near Raisting: 19-Year-Old Dies After Collision With Tree

A 19-year-old has died following a serious car accident near Raisting, where the vehicle he was in collided with a tree, injuring four others.

A tragic car accident occurred near Raisting shortly after midnight on Sunday, resulting in the death of a 19-year-old passenger. The vehicle, driven by an 18-year-old, veered off the road and struck a tree under circumstances that have not yet been determined, as reported by the police. Along with the deceased, four young occupants aged between 16 and 18 sustained severe injuries, with some being airlifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The accident took place in the area near the hamlet of Lachen when the driver lost control while navigating a slight right curve, drifting left into the embankment before impacting the tree head-on. Emergency services, including local fire departments from Raisting, Pähl, and Dießen, along with the Technical Relief Organization (THW) from Weilheim, responded with approximately 55 personnel on the scene. The highway was closed for several hours as investigations into the accident commenced and the area was secured.

Despite efforts to revive him, the 19-year-old succumbed to his injuries in the hospital in Weilheim. The authorities have launched an investigation to shed light on the cause of this tragic incident, raising concerns about road safety among the local community.
