44% of Spanish entrepreneurs are already redefining their company strategies due to the current geopolitical context
A significant portion of Spanish entrepreneurs are adjusting their business strategies in response to geopolitical uncertainties, as revealed in a recent report.
The ongoing geopolitical context is posing challenges for business leaders both within Spain and abroad. According to the 'Perspectivas 2026' report conducted annually by KPMG in collaboration with CEOE, 44% of top executives in Spanish companies are currently redefining their growth strategies due to rising uncertainty. Specifically, 34% have already taken action, 10% plan to do so soon, and 36% are in analysis mode before making decisions on their strategic direction.
The areas most impacted by this shift include internationalization efforts, such as expansion into other countries and investments, as well as projects dependent on supply chains, like innovation, technology initiatives, and strategic alliances. Executives perceive the anxiety surrounding their decision-making not only as a reflection of the international landscape but also of domestic issues in Spain, where political uncertainty, legal insecurity, and regulatory changes contribute to a deteriorating environment for business planning.
This strategic shift indicates a broader concern among Spanish businesses regarding both global and local dynamics. Navigating through such uncertain times requires adaptability and foresight, as enterprises reassess their operational frameworks to safeguard and potentially enhance their market positions amid an evolving geopolitical landscape.
