Minja Korhonen's brilliant jump - fighting again for a top position
Finnish skier Minja Korhonen excelled in a foggy competition in Oslo, finishing fourth in the last ski jumping event of the World Cup season.
In a remarkable display amidst thick fog, Finnish skier Minja Korhonen performed excellently at the ski jumping event held in Holmenkollen, Oslo. She achieved a jump of 120 meters, which secured her fourth place in the final ski jumping segment of the World Cup season. At just 18 years old, Korhonen has shown impressive skill and determination in this competition, especially following her recent victory in her first World Cup event in Lahti just the week before.
Alongside Korhonen, 17-year-old Heta Hirvonen contributed to a strong Finnish performance by securing sixth place with a remarkable jump of 118 meters. With such performances, both athletes have demonstrated their potential on the international stage, positioning themselves as strong contenders in the World Cup circuit. Taking the starting line in the five-kilometer pursuit shortly after Korhonen, Hirvonen follows closely behind, indicating a competitive edge among the Finnish delegation.
Additionally, fellow Finnish competitor Anna Kerko jumped well, reaching a length of 104.5 meters, starting her race somewhat behind others but showcasing her talent. The event was dominated by Norway’s Ingrid Låte, who won with a stunning jump of 132 meters. Despite Låte’s victory, it was the Finnish athletes who caught attention with their resilience and competitiveness, establishing a hopeful outlook for future competitions.
