Minja Korhonen, 18, is chasing podium placement again

Minja Korhonen competes in the women's ski jumping event, having already achieved podium placement seven times this season, as she prepares to start her skiing run behind Norway's Ingrid Laate.

Eighteen-year-old Minja Korhonen is back in pursuit of another podium finish as she competes in the women's ski jumping segment. The event's opening round saw Norwegian Ingrid Laate kick off, followed by notable performances from Ida Marie Hagen, who secured second in the ski jump segment, and Alexa Brabec from the USA, who came in third. Korhonen finished the jumping event in fourth place but is positioned well to make a move, starting her skiing portion just one minute and 25 seconds after Laate and only 14 seconds behind Brabec.

The competition has been fierce this season, with Korhonen already claiming spots on the podium seven times. Her main competitor, Heta Hirvonen, also performed well during the ski jumping, qualifying in sixth place despite being hindered by health issues that prevented her from training the week before the event. Hirvonen remarked on her current state, indicating low expectations for the skiing portion but still looking forward to the challenge.

With the skiing segment about to commence shortly after the men's ski jumping event, fans are eager to see how Korhonen, along with her teammates, will perform. The excitement surrounding these events highlights the competitive nature of the World Cup circuit and the pressures athletes face as they strive for victory amidst challenging circumstances.
