The inquiries were triggered following a complaint made by a student from Colégio Pedro II, which led to the authorities examining the circumstances surrounding the incident. Law enforcement is actively pursuing leads and as part of the investigation, is awaiting testimony from the victim of another reported incident that occurred in 2023, involving a 14-year-old adolescent at the time.

Further complicating matters, another allegation resurfaced from October 2025, where a witness has already come forward to provide a statement. The police are in the process of seeking judicial authorization to access telecommunications data of the individuals involved, aiming to gather more evidence that could link them to the other allegations. This expansion of the investigation emphasizes the seriousness and complexity of cases associated with sexual violence in the area.

Addressing the legal status, the apprehended minor is facing charges resembling those of rape under juvenile justice statutes. Due to his age, his identity remains confidential, and he is currently placed in a facility operated by the General Department of Socio-Educational Actions (Degase), highlighting the system's handling of minors in serious criminal cases.
