Over 3,000 residents benefit from medical outreach in Oyo

A healthcare outreach conducted by City Changers Global in Ibadan, Oyo State, has reached over 3,000 local residents, including elderly individuals, youth, and students. The outreach, which began on Friday at the Glory Tabernacle Ministry, is aimed at supporting vulnerable populations across the 11 local government areas of Ibadanland. According to pharmacist Olaseni Sokunbi, who leads the medical team, the response has been highly positive, with significant participation from the community.
Throughout the outreach, the medical team has been filling numerous prescriptions, with Friday alone seeing over 2,000 prescriptions issued and subsequent distribution of eyeglasses to approximately 500 individuals. The event is supported by an array of healthcare professionals, including optometrists, pharmacists, nurses, and doctors, many of whom are affiliated with the University College Hospital in Ibadan. The initiative aims to conduct 2,000 eye checks and provide essential medical services to those in need, highlighting a robust community effort to enhance health access.
This outreach reflects the critical need for healthcare services within the region, especially for vulnerable populations who may otherwise struggle to access such help.
