In early 2026, the Brazilian automotive industry faces a challenging landscape as vehicle exports to Argentina drop significantly. After a year of growth in 2025, fueled by strong demand from Argentine markets, the first two months of 2026 show a stark decline. There were 59,400 vehicles exported compared to 82,400 during the same period in the previous year, a noteworthy 28% decrease. This downturn is largely attributed to a contraction in the Argentine market, which has historically been the primary destination for Brazilian-made vehicles. The only factor mitigating this decline is an unexpected rise in demand from Mexico, where exports surged from 2,200 to 9,100 units in February.
