How do Poles rate Donald Tusk? The latest survey leaves no doubt

A recent survey shows that 38.2% of Poles rate Prime Minister Donald Tusk positively, while 60.3% express dissatisfaction with his government.

Donald Tusk, head of the coalition government following the elections of October 15, 2023, has received mixed reviews from the Polish public, as highlighted by a recent IBRiS survey commissioned by Onet. The survey posed the question, "How do you evaluate the activities of Prime Minister Donald Tusk?" to participants, revealing that only 38.2% of respondents rated his performance positively. Among those, 12.6% expressed a strong approval, while 25.6% indicated a mild approval.

Conversely, the survey indicates a significant level of discontent, with 60.3% of Poles expressing unfavorable views toward Tusk's governance. Specifically, 31.1% of the respondents rated his performance as "definitely bad," and an additional 29.2% labeled it as "rather bad." This overwhelming majority of dissatisfied citizens suggests challenges ahead for Tusk, who took office on December 13, 2023, following a vote of confidence in the parliament.

This survey reflects not only Tusk's current approval ratings but also the political landscape in Poland as it grapples with ongoing challenges. The results might influence Tusk’s strategies as he navigates through potential political turbulence, given that public perception plays a crucial role in the stability and effectiveness of government policies.
