Museum of Art of Rio offers free entry on Saturdays until the end of March
The Museum of Art of Rio is celebrating its 13th anniversary by offering free admission every Saturday in March.
The Museum of Art of Rio (MAR) is celebrating its 13th anniversary with a weekend offering of free admission throughout March. Located in the port area of Rio de Janeiro, the museum has welcomed over 5 million visitors since its opening in 2013 and has established itself as a vital cultural hub in Brazil. This initiative aligns with MAR's efforts to expand public engagement and accessibility to its artistic offerings.
In addition to the free entry, MAR is also inaugurating three new exhibitions this month. One of the highlights is the traveling exhibition from the 36th SΓ£o Paulo Biennial, which commenced on March 7th. Sponsored by Vale, this exhibition features works from 19 national and international artists, emphasizing themes of encounter, respect, and diversity - crucial elements for contemplating humanity in today's context. This reflects MAR's commitment to promoting contemporary art and discourse.
Furthermore, on March 14, the museum will host its first institutional solo exhibition of artist Guilhermina August. This event not only marks a significant milestone for the artist but is also a part of MARβs broader initiatives to showcase diverse artistic expressions. By providing free access and presenting rich cultural programming, MAR aims to deepen the community's connection to the arts and celebrate its ongoing role in the cultural landscape of Brazil.
